NewFest Crowns Winners

NewFest wrapped up at the end of last week and female directors got a bunch of surprises.

Circumstance written and directed by Maryam Keshavarz was awarded the best film. The film opens August 26th. Don’t miss this one. Zoe Heran won the best performance for her terrific work in Tomboy written and directed by Celine Sciamma. That film has been making its way around the Europena film festival circuit and the good news is that is will open in the US in November. The performance honorable mention went to Bélgica Castro of Old Cats.
