Nicole Holofcener’s Enough Said, starring Julia Louis-Dreyfus and James Gandolfini, opened in limited release this past weekend to critical praise. That praise paid off because Holofcener’s latest dominated the specialty box office.

The film opened in four theaters in New York and Los Angeles on Wednesday with a five gross of $301,734, the weekend gross was $204,000.

Enough Said had a per screen average of $60,000 making it one of the best indie openings of the year. It easily beat out Ron Howard’s Rush, also released this past weekend, before it rolls out nationwide on September 27th. Rush had a per screen average of $40,000.

Lana Wilson and Martha Shane’s documentary, After Tiller, opened in two theaters with an average of $15,500.

Enough Said will expand to 65 new markets on September 27th as well as expanding in New York and Los Angeles.
