Mimi Cave has lined up her follow-up to “Fresh,” and the project’s got major star power attached to it. Deadline reports that Oscar favorite Nicole Kidman will topline and produce the filmmaker’s sophomore feature, “Holland, Michigan.” The screenplay for the Amazon Studios thriller topped the 2013 Black List.
Said to have a Hitchcockian bent to it, “Holland, Michigan” revolves around “secrets that lurk beneath a Midwestern town.”
Kate Churchill (“Spotlight”) will exec produce.
Kidman recently earned Best Actress Oscar and SAG nominations for her role as Lucille Ball in “Being the Ricardos.” Other recent credits include “The Northman” and HBO Max series “The Undoing.” The five-time Oscar nominee won Best Actress in 2003 for “The Hours.”
Cave’s “Fresh,” a comedic horror pic starring “Normal People” breakout Daisy Edgar-Jones, was released in March following its world premiere at Sundance in January. Short films “Sleigh Bells: And Saints” and “I’m Happy, I Promise” are also among her credits.
