Nicole Perlman and Meg LeFauve Confirmed to Write ‘Captain Marvel’ Movie

Marvel has hired two women writers, “Guardians of the Galaxy” co-writer Nicole Perlman and “Inside Out” co-writer Meg LeFauve, to pen the company’s first female-driven film.

Marvel reportedly sought out female writers specifically for the project. Perlman and LeFauve were teamed up by Marvel president Kevin Feige, who asked the two women to combine their respective ideas for the film into one script.

Captain Marvel, nee Carol Danvers, is an Air Force pilot who gains superpowers after her DNA is blended with that of an alien.

Fingers crossed that Marvel also goes with a female director. The film will open July 6, 2018.
