TV has a reputation for being a more inviting place for women, but female storytellers are still outnumbered nearly 3 to 1 as writers and creators for the small screen.
WeForShe, an advocacy group for women in media, is thus soliciting nominations for the best unproduced female-penned pilot scripts with female protagonists for its 2016 WriteHer List.
Here’s what they’re about and what they’re looking for:
WHAT IS THE WRITEHER LIST:
The WriteHer List brings top quality, industry-vetted, female-driven, female-written, television scripts to the forefront of development.
WHAT YOU DO:
Become part of creating this go-to resource by submitting your favorite unproduced pilot script to writeherlist@gmail.com
WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU:
A sneak peak at the list one week before it goes public on our website in 2016 — allowing you to check out the scripts your peers mostly highly recommend. Plus, the satisfaction of knowing you might help that amazing script find a home, get a female writer staffed on a show, or find that perfect script you were looking to pick up for your company.
GUIDELINES:
All script types welcome (one-hour drama, half-hour comedy, limited series, etc.).
Single author or writing teams are fine (as long as one team member is a woman).
Submissions must come through industry referral. They cannot come directly from writers or their representatives.
Nominators remain anonymous.
