Noomi Rapace in Talks to Star in Amy Winehouse Biopic Written/Directed by Kirsten Sheridan

Actress Noomi Rapace (“Prometheus,” the Swedish “Girl With the Dragon Tattoo” trilogy) is in negotiations to play soul singer Amy Winehouse in a new biopic.

To be written and directed by Irish filmmaker Kirsten Sheridan, the film will be titled “Amy Winehouse” and will launch at the American Film Market. Winehouse was also recently profiled in Asif Kapadia’s documentary “Amy,” which became one of the year’s biggest critical and commercial nonfiction hits, with $25 million in worldwide ticket sales.

Sheridan is the direcor of the features “Dollhouse,” “August Rush” and “Disco Pigs.”

The “Amy Winehouse” team is currently in talks with the singer’s estate for the music rights.
