In the most exciting TV news of the week, NBC has given a put pilot commitment to a Murder She Wrote reboot starring Oscar winner, Octavia Spencer.
Alexandra Cunningham will write and executive produce the project with David Janollari, It will put a twist on the 12 season long running Murder She Wrote, starring the great Angela Lansbury as Jessica Fletcher. Spencer will play a hospital administrator and amateur sleuth who self-publishes her own mystery novel. She begins helping others solve crimes.
And in other news, Melissa McCarthy, alongside husband, Ben Falcone, have sold their third show in a row. The pitch is about two grown men who are forced together when their parents get married. McCarthy and Falcone will executive produce alongside Larry Dorf who wrote the script.
