Elizabeth Strout’s Pulitizer winning novel, Olive Kitteridge, is set for a four-hour miniseries at HBO.
Adapted by Jane Anderson, Olive Kitteridge tells the story of a small New England town that is fraught with crime, affairs and general tragedy. At its center is Olive (Frances McDormand) who hilariously and brutally relays the stories of the town. Richard Jenkins is signed on to play her husband, Henry.
McDormand has been with the project for quite sometime. She read the book before it got its many accolades, bought the rights with her own money and got Anderson on board to adapt. Lisa Cholodenko is on board to direct.
