If you thought “The Fault in Our Stars” required a box of tissues, gird your heart for Jasmine Warga’s “My Heart And Other Black Holes.”
Paramount has bought the rights to the Jordanian-American author’s debut novel, which follows two teenagers, Aysel Seran and Roman Franklin, who enter a suicide pact online to kill themselves in 26 days (and encourage the other to actually go through with it).
Warga wrote “My Heart” after the death of a close friend. “Aysel was a vessel for me to tackle questions about the demon of depression, grief, and the ultimate saving power of love and human connection,” she said.
The novel was published on February 10.
