Award-winning producer Darla K. Anderson will soon add another honor to her résumé. The Pixar Animation Studios producer will receive the Harold Lloyd Award for Filmmaking at next month’s Lumiere Awards, The Hollywood Reporter confirms. The ceremony, hosted by the Advanced Imaging Society, celebrates “creative and technical achievement in motion pictures and TV, as well as virtual and augmented reality.”

Anderson has been at Pixar since 1993. She’s produced films such as “A Bug’s Life,” “Toy Story 3,” and most recently, the Día de los Muertos-inspired “Coco.”

“Darla K. Anderson has dedicated her career to creating technically and artistically stunning movies for audiences worldwide,” commented Suzanne Lloyd, chair of Harold Lloyd Entertainment. “Like my grandfather, who moved global audiences with heart and humor, Darla has also shown a steadfast commitment to powerful storytelling, as ‘Coco’ so clearly demonstrates.”

Marvel’s Victoria Alonso is among the past Harold Lloyd Award recipients.

Anderson and her fellow “Coco” filmmakers recently took home the Golden Globe for best animated feature. The latest Pixar film has grossed more than $627 million worldwide. Anderson has previously received an Oscar nod, a BAFTA, a PGA Award, and many other accolades for her work.

“I was just in lock-step with the directors in terms of just really wanting this to be culturally resonant,” Anderson has said of making “Coco.” “I mean, we’re not trying to make the quintessential film on Día de los Muertos. But it was really important to us that we get it as correct as we could … Again, I’m sure there’s no such thing as perfection, but we tried extraordinarily hard to be very, very respectful.”

The Lumiere Awards will be held February 12 in Los Angeles.
