An inclusive new comedy series from Kaley Cuoco’s Yes, Norman Productions is in the works at CBS. Starring Santina Muha (“Don’t Worry, He Won’t Get Far On Foot”) and Lindsay Kraft (“Getting On”), the show “is about a ballsy, passionate woman (Muha) who moves from Jersey to L.A. to pursue her dreams of finding love and becoming the next Oprah,” Deadline reports. Kraft is writing from her and Muha’s story.
Michelle Nader (“2 Broke Girls”) is set to showrun. Cuoco, Nader, and Danielle Stokdyk (“iZombie”) are exec producing. Kraft is co-exec producing with Yes, Norman’s Suzanne McCormack and Muha is producing.
The project’s development began with Kraft writing a short about her friend Muha, who has been in a wheelchair since the age of five. When Kraft met Cuoco at a party through a shared agent, they “immediately hit it off,” and Kraft was invited with Muha to pitch the short. Believing the short to have the “markings of a comedy series,” Cuoco took the material to Warner Bros. TV, where she is currently under a deal.
Muha’s past credits include “One Day At a Time,” and “Comedy Bang! Bang!,” and she is a regular performer at UCB. She has penned and starred in shorts “Take It Back” and “Her Hollywood Ending.”
Kraft has previously co-written and starred in the NBC pilot “Throuple.” “Living Biblically,” “Grace and Frankie,” and “The Big Bang Theory” are among her other credits.
Cuoco’s Yes, Norman Productions has two series on the way via Warner Bros.: HBO Max drama “The Flight Attendant” and animated series “Harley Quinn.” Cuoco will topline both. She starred in “The Big Bang Theory,” which ended earlier this year after 12 seasons.
