CinemaCon is underway in Las Vegas. It is the annual event where the theatre owners are presented with the blockbusters that they will be showing in their theatres this summer.
Catherine Paura CEO of Capstone Global Marketing and Research shared some research with the audience about trends in moviegoing. She said that the theatre owners need to focus more on baby boomers because they still go to the movies and like to see their movies on the big screen. She also said:
Young people because of technology, because of the different ways they can entertain themselves are not as habituated to going to the movies as the older generation. And women are most likely to drive sales because “men tend not to go as much with their friends.
