Rebecca Ferguson in Talks to Star in ‘The Girl on the Train’ Opposite Emily Blunt

After breaking out in “Mission: Impossible — Rogue Nation,” Rebecca Ferguson will likely follow up in a supporting role in “The Girl on the Train.”

The film adaptation of Paula Hawkins’ best-selling mystery already has Emily Blunt attached to star as Rachel, an alcoholic divorcee who has to search within her blacked-out memories to figure out who killed a local woman. The murder victim is one half of a couple Rachel had idealized from afar while gazing longingly at their house twice a day during her work commute.

Ferguson is in talks to play Anna, the new wife of Rachel’s ex-husband. The actress also recently wrapped up shooting “Florence Foster Jenkins” with Meryl Streep.
