Ever wonder what kind of moms the Heathers might have grown up to be?

Australian writer Liane Moriarty’s bestselling, critically acclaimed comic novel Big Little Lies seems to imagine precisely that. Published last month, BLL follows three moms in a parents group as they navigate issues of infidelity, divorce, school bullying, and online predators. One of them ends up dead — and the mystery is how and why.

Judging from the Amazon reader reviews, Big Little Lies has already found a rabid, enthralled audience (it boasts over 110 five-star reviews and only 2 one-star reviews).

And now Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon’s production companies have banded together to adapt the big-screen version as a vehicle for themselves. Moriarty will help produce.
