Reese Witherspoon and Sofia Vergara are set to star in Don’t Mess With Texas. After a bidding war, Universal just made a deal for the script, written by John Quaintance and David Feeney, who were former writers on the dearly departed Ben & Kate.
The film is about a cop and a prisoner on the run in Texas who are being pursued by some corrupted cops.
Witherspoon alongside Bruna Papandrea will produce through their production company Pacific Standard. Dana Fox (creator of Ben & Kate) will also produce and Vergara will be a co-producer.
Production on the film is set to start in March 2014. This is a comedy pairing we are excited for.
