Regina Hall is set to star as the female lead in "Crushed," a single-cam Hulu comedy from writer Tina Gordon Chism.
Hall’s screen credits include "Vacation," "About Last Night," "The Best Man Holiday" and "Think Like a Man" and its sequel. Chism wrote and directed the feature film "Peeples." She also penned the screenplays of "Drumline" and "ATL."
Initially developed for HBO, "Crushed" follows a black family as they find success in the wine-making business in Napa, California, where they stand out for their unique approaches to wine and lifestyle.
The project currently boasts three female producers: EPs Chism and Stephanie Allain, as well as co-producer C. Deneen Brown. Brown is the president of Brown Estates, believed to be Napa’s first and only African-American-owned winery. It sounds, though, that Hall will play the sister of the main character Will.
Hulu recently gave "Crushed" a pilot order. Fingers crossed for this one.
