Renee Zellweger to Make Directorial and Stage Debuts

Renée Zellweger is going to be one busy lady.

Zellweger has just signed on to make her feature directorial debut with 4 ½ Minutes. The film, which is loosely based on the experiences of stand-up comedian Dov Davidoff, will star Johnny Knoxville as a comedian who has to look after the son of a character that Zellweger will be playing. Filming is supposed to start in February.

And following her directorial debut, Zellweger will make her stage debut — on Broadway no less. She will be starring in a stage adaptation of The Hustler, the 1961 film starring Paul Newman and Piper Laurie. The Hustler focuses on a pool shark and the woman who loves him.

As we had previously linked, Zellweger also has a pilot which she co-wrote and will produce, Cinnamon Girl, in the works at Lifetime.
