Roxane Gay to Host and Produce New Podcast on Luminary

Gay: Pen America World Voices Festival

Another podcast from Roxane Gay is on the way. The “Hear to Slay” co-host and “Bad Feminist” writer is launching “The Roxane Gay Agenda” on subscription podcast network Luminary January 25. According to Deadline, it’s a talk show that “will feature conversations with Gay, who also offers uncommonly incisive reads of the politics that shape the world and popular culture.”

Gay will also produce the podcast, which is being made in partnership with iHeartMedia. “Episodes will be released weekly with listeners able to listen early and ad-free on the Luminary app or its Apple podcast subscription service The Luminary Channel, before being released wide via the iHeart Podcast Network,” the source details.

Alongside co-host Tressie McMillan Cottom, Gay has interviewed Stacey Abrams, Gabrielle Union, Ava DuVernay, and more for “Hear to Slay.”

Gay’s nonfiction works include “Bad Feminist” and “Hunger,” and she’s also the author of novel “An Untamed State,” graphic novel “The Banks,” and short story collections “Difficult Women” and “Ayiti.” She became the first Black woman to write a Marvel comic book with the Black Panther series “World of Wakanda.”
