Samuel Goldwyn Films Acquires Anita Hill Documentary

null

Samuel Goldwyn Films has acquired the U.S. rights to Anita, the documentary about Anita Hill.

Directed by Freida Mock, Anita follows the life of Anita Hill–looking at her experiences which led her to testify against Clarence Thomas through her words for the first time. Women and Hollywood saw the film at Sundance and it confirms that Anita Hill is one of the true heroes of our time.

In a statement about the acquisition, Samuel Goldwyn Films senior VP, Peter Goldwyn seems to agree.

We are excited to be working with the talented Freida Mock in bringing Anita’s powerful, life-changing story to not only the people who lived through the
circus of the hearings but also to a new generation. Anita’s impact on the course of history over the last 20-plus years shouldn’t be forgotten and this
film celebrates her legacy.

The documentary is set to be released sometime this fall.   Here is an interview with director Frieda Mock.
