Three or four times a year (if that much), Hollywood seems to remember that women exist.

Thus we get the occasional film that caters to female filmgoers, nearly always starring white actresses: the Annual Chick Comedy, romantic/sex fantasies like Twilight and Fifty Shades of Grey, and of course the latest Nicholas Sparks weepie. Thankfully, it looks like Hannah Minghella, the President of Production at Sony, wants to change things up as far as “women’s films” are concerned. Deadline reports that the studio (helmed by Amy Pascal) will adapt Facebook exec Sheryl Sandberg’s business memoir Lean In: Women, Work, And The Will to Lead. And while we hope that the film will find plenty of male viewers, there’s no question this one is for the girls’ team.

Writer Nell Scovell, who co-wrote Lean In, has been tapped to pen the screenplay. Instead of crafting a narrative about Sandberg, the film adaptation will reportedly incorporate the themes found in the book, a la Rosalind Wiseman’s Queen Bees and Wannabes’ conversion into Tina Fey’s Mean Girls.
