Sigourney Weaver will receive the 2016 Donostia Award for Career Achievement at the 64th San Sebastian Festival, Variety has reported.
The festival runs from September 18–26 this year in the resort city. A festival statement noted that Weaver has “presided over some of the biggest productions in the last few decades.” Her credits include the “Alien” franchise, the original “Ghostbusters,” “WALL-E,” “Avatar,” and “Political Animals.” Weaver also makes our favorite cameo in this year’s “Ghostbusters” reboot (“Safety lights are for dudes!”).
The award ceremony will be presented alongside the European premiere of Juan Antonio Bayona’s film “A Monster Calls,” an adaptation of Patrick Ness’ novel of the same name, in which Weaver appears. The film will hit U.S. theaters on October 14.
