Sophia Bush Signs Talent & Development Deal with 20th Century Fox TV

Bush in “Chicago P.D.”

Sophia Bush said goodbye to playing Detective Erin Lindsay earlier this year, and now she’s setting up her return to the small screen. The former “Chicago P.D.” star has signed a talent holding and development deal with 20th Century Fox Television, The Hollywood Reporter confirms. The pact sees her starring in an upcoming comedy or drama pilot for the studio, plus executive producing other projects for the company.

“Now more than ever, vital female voices need to be heard. I’m thrilled to begin developing content that inspires and excites me at 20th Century Fox TV,” said Bush.

The “One Tree Hill” alumna left “Chicago P.D.” five months ago. Her character in the cop drama was first introduced in “Chicago Fire” and also appeared in “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.” “Marshall,” “John Tucker Must Die,” and
“Hatfields & McCoys” are among Bush’s other credits.

“I watch everybody fight over whether it’s appropriate to be a feminist or not. And I sit here thinking, well, I’m a woman. I would like to be judged on the quality of my work, I would like to be compensated fairly for my work. I would like to have just as much access to healthcare as any man,” the actress has explained. “Yeah, that’s pretty much it. I don’t know what the big fight is all about.” She added, “It just feels like there’s so much stuff that gets placed on women that if we truly had equal opportunity wouldn’t even be in the conversation.”

“We’ve been great admirers of Sophia for years and after meeting, we knew we wanted to be in business with her,” said Fox TV Group exec vp of casting Sharon Klein. “She’s smart, she’s passionate, and she brings great ideas and energy to the table. This deal is about developing with her as well as casting her into a comedy or drama this pilot season. She’s a giant TV star and we’re thrilled to have her exclusively at FTG.”

Other women with deals at 20th Century Fox TV include “Fresh Off the Boat” creator Nahnatchka Khan and “Empire” showrunner Ilene Chaiken.
