Stage 32 and PGA Women’s Impact Network Launch Pitching Event for Female-Centric Scripts

Female protagonists at the movie theater are becoming an endangered species.

To help tell more relevant and interesting stories to girls and women — an audience that has proven itself loyal and reliable — the entertainment-industry social-media hub Stage 32 and the PGA Women’s Impact Network will host a two-weekend educational panel and pitching event to find female-centric stories and projects for film, television, reality, and new media.

The event, which is
exclusive to PGA members, will take place on May 2 and May 9 at Laurel Canyon Stages. The first weekend will include an industry executive panel with Stephanie Wilcox (Rumble Films), Tiffany Boyle
(Ramo Law), Mara Tasker (VICE Media), Richard Botto (Founder & CEO, Stage
32) and Joey Tuccio (President, Stage 32 Happy Writers), moderated by PGA and
WIN member Carrie Lynn Certa. The educational panel will discuss the current
female-centric marketplace and what executives are looking for.

Stage 32 will pair up executives looking for specific types of female-centric material with producers, who will be able to pitch their projects during the second weekend of the
event. Stage 32 describes itself as “the world’s largest social network and educational hub for film, television, and theater creatives.”

More information can be found in the PGA member newsletter and on Stage32.com/PGA.
