Submit Now: 2020 IFP Week Project Forum

The Independent Filmmaker Project (IFP) is now taking submissions for select categories of the 2020 IFP Week Project Forum. According to a press release, the org is accepting submissions to the Narrative Series and Spotlight on Documentaries sections.

To be held September 20-24 in New York, IFP Week includes “meetings, screenings, panels, meet ups, and exhibitions centered on connecting compelling independent big screen, small screen, and new content formats” to the industry, per its website.

The Project Forum fosters connections between participants and potential distributors, financiers, production companies, festival programmers, sales and talent agents, collaborators, and more.

The Narrative Series section — part of the No Borders program, which gives creators “the opportunity to attend IFP Week and meet with various members of industry in an effort to help move their projects forward, broaden their networks, and find a level of career sustainability” — is accepting short form, half-hour, and hour-long episodic submissions. “Projects are eligible from the development stage (pilot script and pitch/series bible), up to the entire unreleased completed series.”

The Spotlight on Documentaries category is designed for emerging and established documentary filmmakers. The program “connects 60+ work-in-progress non-fiction features and series with financiers, distributors, broadcasters, sales companies, and festival programmers.”

The early deadline for the 2020 IFP Week Project Forum submissions is May 5. The extended deadline is May 19. You can apply or find more information on IFP’s website.
