Submit Your Short for the Eva Haller Women Transforming Media Award

Haller: My Hero Project

The Eva Haller Women Transforming Media Award is accepting submissions. Named for the human rights activist and philanthropist Eva Haller, the honor recognizes short films telling women’s stories. Trailers and excerpts from longer works will also be accepted.

First prize is $2,500 and other cash prizes will be presented at the student (elementary to college) and professional levels.

Last year, Cheri Gaulke received the Women Transforming Media Award for her animated short “Gloria’s Call,” which portrays the friendship between art critic Gloria Orenstein and surrealist artist Leonora Carrington.

Born in Budapest in 1930, Haller joined the Hungarian resistance at age 12. As an adult, she participated in Dr. Martin Luther King’s Selma march and became an advocate for women’s issues. Her philanthropic endeavors include Women for Women International and the Jane Goodall Institute.

More information about the Women Transforming Media Award can be found below and on its website.
