Susanne Bier to Lead Zurich Film Festival Jury

Danish filmmaker Susanne Bier is set to serve as President of the International Feature Film Jury at the Zurich International Film Festival (September 25-October 5). Bier, who won the Best Foreign-Language Film Oscar for the 2011 thriller In a Better World, will head a jury comprised of four film-industry stalwarts: director Jasmila Žbanić (Grbavica), producer Marie Masmonteil (Party Girl), actor Val Kilmer (Heat), and producer Donald De Line (The Green Lantern). It’s nice — and noteworthy — to see a jury with more women on it than men.

Bier is currently in the midst of premiering and promoting her two newest offerings — A Second Chance and the high-profile but long-shelved drama Serena, starring Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper.
