Teaser Watch: Diana, Princess of Themyscira Becomes Diana Prince in “Wonder Woman”

“Wonder Woman”

June 2 can’t come soon enough. We’re counting down the days until Patty Jenkins’ “Wonder Woman” hits theaters. In the meantime, a new TV promo for the Gal Gadot-led film has aired, and the 30-second spot contains new footage from the highly anticipated blockbuster.

The spot, titled “Together,” centers on the relationship between our caped crusader and Captain Steve Trevor (Chris Pine, “Star Trek” franchise). “Who is this young woman?” Steve is asked. A warrior? A badass? A legend? All of these answers would work, but in present company, Steve has to maintain secrecy and gives a more subdued answer. The fact that “this woman” is a superheroine must be kept under wraps for the time being. “We’re working together,” he says. Fortunately, we get to see some of this “work,” which of course includes the Golden Lasso.

Pine has been very candid about his feelings regarding his role in the film and his relationship to Wonder Woman. “I couldn’t be happier to be supporting Gal in what’s going to be the first female-driven superhero film,” he said. “I think in the world today we’ve had plenty enough of male-driven everything and it’s finally time to see how wonderful the world can be with beautiful, strong, intelligent women kicking some major ass.” Amen.

Check out the frustratingly short vid to see how Diana, Princess of Themyscira became known as Diana Prince outside of her homeland.
