“Ever since my son went away, I’m having these crazy fantasies,” Kathryn Hahn confesses in a new teaser for “Mrs. Fletcher.” The HBO coming-of-age comedy series sees Eve Fletcher (Hahn) reinventing her life and exploring her sexuality when her son (Jackson White) goes to college.
As Eve explains, she doesn’t “want to be a good girl anymore.” We see her dipping into the world of internet porn, getting intimate with new partners, and trying her hand at some self-spanking.
“It is no small thing that the juiciest and most complicated roles of my life have come post-having two children,” Hahn has said. “And that is something to listen to, and something I hope younger actresses can hear and listen to. Your creative life can continue to just turn inside out and evolve in ways that you can’t possibly imagine, whether or not you decide to be a parent. It doesn’t matter. The further you walk on, the further you grow and age, it doesn’t matter. I was so surprised by that. Really, this is a huge surprise to me.”
“Private Life,” “A Bad Moms Christmas,” and “I Love Dick” are among Hahn’s recent credits.
“Mrs. Fletcher” is based on Tom Perrotta’s (“The Leftovers”) best-selling novel of the same name. The show doesn’t have a premiere date yet.
