Teaser Watch: Midge and Susie Hit the Road in Season 3 of “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel”

"The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel"

“The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” is taking her act on the road in Season 3. A new teaser for Amy Sherman-Palladino’s Emmy-winning comedy just dropped.

Stand-up comedian Midge Maisel (Rachel Brosnahan) and her manager, Susie (Alex Borstein), are on tour with singer Shy Baldwin (Leroy McClain), and it’s an exciting, glamorous adventure. Set to “If My Friends Could See Me Now” from the musical “Sweet Charity,” the spot sees Midge and Susie being photographed, lounging by the pool, and winning at the casino.

And, of course, there’s plenty of comedy. “In 1960, an unmarried woman will take the Pill so she can have as much sex as she wants,” Midge declares during a set, “and a married woman will just have a headache and call it a night.”

Meanwhile, back at home, Rose (Marin Hinkle) and Abe (Tony Shalhoub) deal with the fallout of their daughter publicly discussing their lives for the sake of comedy. “It was your penis she was talking about, not mine,” Rose snaps at her husband as they read about Midge’s act.

“The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” is up for a whopping 20 Emmys this year, including best comedy, best comedy actress (Brosnahan), best comedy supporting actress (Borstein and Hinkle), and best comedy directing (Sherman-Palladino).

The show won best comedy at the 2018 Emmys. Brosnahan and Borstein took home prizes for their performances and Sherman-Palladino became the first woman to win Emmys for both comedy writing and comedy directing.

“The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” returns December 6 on Amazon Prime.
