“We are on the precipice of something great,” says Nicole Kidman in a new trailer for “Nine Perfect Strangers.” An adaptation of Liane Moriarty’s novel of the same name, the Hulu limited series sees the Oscar and Emmy-winning actress playing Masha, the director of a boutique health-and-wellness resort. “You want to get well?” she asks in the spot. “You want to heal? Surrender yourself to me.”
Nine visitors are promised that 10 days with Masha will leave them “transformed.” The creepy trailer suggests that this transformation may not be quite what the visitors had in mind.
Kidman took home two Emmy awards for her work on another series based on one of Moriarty’s novels, HBO hit “Big Little Lies.” She won Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series or Movie for her role as Celeste and Outstanding Limited Series for exec producing the murder mystery. Her last TV project, HBO’s “The Undoing,” earned her a Golden Globe nomination. A four-time Oscar nominee, Kidman took home the prize for “The Hours.”
No word on a premiere date for “Nine Perfect Strangers.” The show’s star-studded ensemble cast includes Melissa McCarthy, Regina Hall, and Samara Weaving. Kidman is among its exec producers.
