Season 3 of “Victoria” will see the young monarch facing turmoil across her country and private life. A new teaser for Daisy Goodwin’s ITV/PBS series has dropped, and hints that Queen Victoria (Jenna Coleman) will have a lot of drama to deal with.
For one, her mysterious sister, Feodora (Kate Fleetwood, “Harlots”), returns to her life. The sisters seem to be close, but the spot suggests Feodora is driving a wedge between the Queen and her husband, Prince Albert (Tom Hughes). “What trick do you play on her?” the suspicious foreign secretary, Lord Palmerston (Laurence Fox, “Inspector Lewis”), asks Feodora of her sister.
Also adding to the Queen’s stress: a revolution is brewing and she’s expecting once more. At one point, a very pregnant Victoria is standing near a window when a protester hurls a brick through it. But she loves her people and her country and won’t shrink away from her duties, even under threat of violence. “I will not run away!” she declares.
Check out the teaser below to see Victoria take out some of her frustration on her hubby during a formal dinner.
Created by Goodwin (“Pulling”), “Victoria” among the highest-rated dramas PBS has seen in recent years and one of the network’s biggest hits since “Downton Abbey.” Season 3 kicks off January 13.
