Teaser Watch: TV’s Most Toxic Love Story Continues in “Killing Eve” Season 2

"Killing Eve"

Perfectly scored to “Addicted to Love,” a teaser for Season 2 of “Killing Eve” has dropped. Celebrate Valentine’s Day with a glimpse into the future of TV’s most dysfunctional — and doomed — love story.  Season 1 of the critical and ratings hit concluded with secret agent Eve (Sandra Oh) stabbing Villanelle (Jodie Comer), an international assassin and the object of her obsession.

Contrary to what Eve may believe, she didn’t kill her nemesis. Villanelle is alive and on the mend. “Sometimes when you love someone, you do crazy things,” the serial killer says in the spot. That helps explain the fact that she sends her attempted murderer flowers.

“Why are you and Villanelle so interested in each other?” asks Eve’s boss (Fiona Shaw). Season 2 of the BBC America thriller is certain to dig deeper into that very question.

Oh won a Golden Globe for “Killing Eve,” making her the first woman of Asian descent in 39 years to take home the honor for best actress in a TV drama.

“Killing Eve” returns April 7. “Fleabag’s” Phoebe Waller-Bridge created the series, and served as head writer during its debut season. “Call the Midwife” alumna Emerald Fennell took over the reins in Season 2. Lisa Bruhlmann (“Blue My Mind”) and Francesca Gregorini (“Electric Dreams”) are among this season’s directors.
