Several perpetually overlooked shows when it comes to awards time by and about women were nominated by the Television Critics Association Awards.
Robert and Michelle King’s The Good Wife led the female pack with three nominations — the same number that media darling Breaking Bad received — in the categories of Individual Achievement in Drama (for star Julianna Margulies), Outstanding Achievement in Drama, and Program of the Year.
Receiving two nods each are several other gems, including The Mindy Project, Orange is the New Black, Veep, and The Americans.
Parks and Recreation lead Amy Poheler and Orphan Black star Tatiana Maslany were also recognized for their performances in the comedic and dramatic performance categories, respectively.
Valerie Harper will be honored with a Career Achievement Award.
The TCA winners will be announced on July 19.
