I’m sorry, but how did Megan Fox’s departure from Transformers 3 become a big press hook for the movie? Is the movie so bad that they need to distract from the actual movie to events that happened two years ago?

I love how they are kicking a girl when she is down. Now, I’m not condoning her describing Michael Bay as like Hitler. We saw what happened in Cannes when Lars Von Trier threw out a Hitler reference in Cannes. He deservedly got kicked the boot. It’s just a word that makes people really nervous and anxious, especially Steven Spielberg, the Executive Producer of Transformers who has dedicated his life and his money to raising awareness of the Holocaust.

From recent reports it seems that after Fox said the following to Wonderland Magazine in 2009,

He’s like Napoleon and he wants to create this insane, infamous mad-man reputation…He wants to be like Hitler on his sets, and he is. So he’s a nightmare to work for but when you get him away from set, and he’s not in director mode, I kind of really enjoy his personality because he’s so awkward, so hopelessly awkward. He has no social skills at all. And it’s endearing to watch him.

Spielberg called up Bay and told him to fire her.

But why bring up the whole thing again? Because she said she left the franchise on her own? It seems that Michael Bay needs to have the upper hand on everything. The information of Fox’s departure came out in excerpt in GQ Magazine of a book on Bay entitled — Blow-Up: An Oral History of the Most Explosive Director of All Time.

That title sure won’t contribute to his already big head and ego.

Shia LeBeouf, who clearly didn’t have the full story until recently, said that Fox quit because the part was too sexualized, and how Bay treated her made her uncomfortable. That would be a massive understatement. Bay’s notorious and well reported poor treatment of women would make a rock uncomfortable.

Here’s his quote about Fox:

Megan developed this Spice Girl strength, this woman-empowerment [stuff] that made her feel awkward about her involvement with Michael, who some people think is a very lascivious filmmaker, the way he films women,” LaBeouf said. “Mike films women in a way that appeals to a 16-year-old sexuality. It’s summer. It’s Michael’s style. And I think [Fox] never got comfortable with it. This is a girl who was taken from complete obscurity and placed in a sex-driven role in front of the whole world and told she was the sexiest woman in America. And she had a hard time accepting it. When Mike would ask her to do specific things, there was no time for fluffy talk. We’re on the run. And the one thing Mike lacks is tact. There’s no time for [LaBeouf assumes a gentle voice] ‘I would like you to just arch your back 70 degrees.

It’s interesting to say that because Fox had developed “Spice Girl strength”, code for a woman who won’t take shit from a dude that she would not be able to appear in the film because Bay likes his women malleable and weak. Newsflash — this is something that happens to many women after they realize they have been subjected to sexual harassment on an ongoing basis — they stop taking shit and tell you to fuck off. Her “feminist click” moment led to her getting the boot. (That is something that has happened to many women, myself included.)

It seems that Bay’s sexist shit is rubbing off on LeBeouf. If I was ever going to see the film, now I would be boycotting it because these guys are so clueless at how sexist and idiotic they sound.
