Tina Fey isn’t one to play it safe, so it isn’t a total surprise that she’ll next focus her lovably acerbic wit on mining humor from war.
Fey will produce and star in the black comedy Taliban Shuffle, an adaptation of journalist Kim Barker’s darkly comic memoir of her years as wartime correspondent in Afghanistan and Pakistan. The Hollywood Reporter notes that 30 Rock writer Robert Carlock’s script will follow Barker’s experiences of “filing stories about militants, being a woman in wartime Iraq and Pakistan, dealing with boredom interspersed with dashes of violence and the promiscuous war correspondent culture.”
