A trailer has dropped for Julia Davis’ new HBO show. The creator and star of the UK’s “Camping” — which inspired the U.S. version of the show starring Jennifer Garner — wrote, directed, and acts in every episode of “Sally4Ever,” a comedy about a fling that goes way too far.
Sally (Catherine Shepherd, “Peep Show”) is preparing to marry her long-term boyfriend (Alex Macqueen, “The Delivery Man”), whom she considers boring and predictable. Then she meets Emma (Davis), who appears to be his polar opposite. Emma is the kind of person who can request that a makeup artist make her look “sultry, like [she] just had an orgasm.” She’s anything but dull. Smitten, Sally begins a romantic relationship with her crush, “but what starts out as an exciting and sexy fling takes an unexpected turn when Emma reveals herself to be a nightmare,” the show’s synopsis hints.
A press release announced that “Sally4Ever” will kick off its seven-episode season on November 11. The show will premiere on the UK’s Sky Atlantic October 25.
Davis’ other credits include Daniel Day Lewis-starrer “Phantom Thread” and Sky Atlantic series “Hunderby.” She created the latter.
