The winner of the Audience Award at last year’s edition of the Tribeca Film Festival, “Catch the Fair One” tells the story of Kaylee (Kali Reis), a Native American boxer determined to find her missing sister at any cost. “Not a day goes by that I don’t think about this little girl,” she says in a new trailer for the film.
Kaylee goes undercover in a sex trafficking operation to get revenge against the men who kidnapped her sister. “If you want to go through with this, you have to be all in and play the part — and once you’re there, you’re on your own,” she’s warned. But Kaylee won’t be deterred, not even when she’s told that she’s “never going to see her again.” A man who played a role in her sister’s abduction insists, “Nobody’s looking because nobody cares.”
A real-life professional boxer, Reis is up for Best Female Lead at this year’s Indie Spirit Awards, set to take place March 6.
“Catch the Fair One” will be in theaters and on demand February 11.
