“For the first time in my life, I’m actually excited about what’s to come — I truly feel anything is possible,” says Eva Reign in a new trailer for “Anything’s Possible.” Directed by “Pose” star Billy Porter, who made history as the first openly gay Black man to win an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series, the coming-of-age story follows Kelsa (Reign), a trans girl in high school who falls in love for the first time.
The spot shows Kelsa and her classmate, Khal (Abubakr Ali), falling for one another. “I hate when people say I’m brave,” she tells him, referring to folks who applaud her for transitioning so young. “It’s not that brave if you’re just being who you are,” he replies.
Not everyone is rooting for the new couple. “He’s only dating you for woke points,” Kelsa is told.
“Anything’s Possible” launches on Prime Video July 22. Ximena García Lecuona penned the script. She also has an LGBTQ+ adaptation of Sara Jo Cluff’s novel “The Kiss List” starring “Never Have I Ever’s” Megan Suri on the way.
