Jane (Jeanette Maus, “Your Sister’s Sister”) and Gemma (Corbin Reid, “How to Get Away with Murder”) are in mourning: both have lost the most important woman in their lives. Fiona, Jane’s best friend and Gemma’s wife, died by suicide, and grieving her brings the women together in unexpected ways. A new trailer for “My Fiona” sees Jane and Gemma’s new friendship blossoming into something else. “Sometimes when I feel happy I feel terrible — like we’re betraying her,” Jane says while she and Gemma lie in bed.
By her own account, Jane has “no idea” what she’s doing. “Am I, like, a lesbian?” she wonders. Besides navigating their complicated romance, Jane and Gemma are also worrying about doing right by the latter’s son, who just lost a parent. “Am I failing him?” Gemma asks.
“My Fiona” arrives in theaters November 12 and on VOD November 23. “My Fiona” marks Kelly Walker’s feature directorial debut. She also penned its script.
