A group of repulsively misogynistic teenage boys get more than they bargained for when they try to victimize a skilled assassin in “Final Girl.”

The thriller stars Abigail Breslin (“Ender’s Game,” “Little Miss Sunshine”) as Veronica, an axe-slinging heroine. From the time Veronica is a young child, she’s trained for “a very important job” — “the kind most people can’t handle.”

As a teen, Veronica is selected by a posse of predators who have created a game of murdering their female peers after “hunting” them down in the woods.

It seems as though this may have been Veronica’s mission all along — doling out retributive justice via violence. Maybe she’s the one who sought them out.
