Trailer Watch: Anna Kendrick Saves Christmas in “Noelle”

"Noelle"

“My name is Noelle Kringle. Christmas runs in my family,” says Anna Kendrick in the first trailer for “Noelle.” “My dad was Santa, and now, it’s my brother Nick’s turn to wear the hat.” Folks in the North Pole have concerns about whether Nick (Bill Hader) is ready to fill his father’s shoes. He’s terrified of going down chimneys — and that’s a relatively minor hurdle compared to his emotional and psychological state, which Noelle fears has him on the verge of a nervous breakdown. After recommending he take the weekend off, Noelle is shocked to discover that Nick has gone missing.

The Disney+ title sees Noelle taking the reins — and reindeer — on a rescue mission to find her brother and bring him back to the North Pole so Christmas can go on without a hitch. “For thousands of years we’ve jingled bells and delivered toys and we must make sure nothing changes that,” she insists.

Kendrick received an Oscar nod for her supporting role in “Up in the Air.” “Pitch Perfect 3” and “A Simple Favor” are among her recent credits.

“Noelle” will start streaming on Disney+ November 12.
