“Tonight is your night,” says Jessica Williams in a new NSFW “Booksmart” trailer. The “Daily Show” alumna is addressing college-bound BFFs Molly (Beanie Feldstein) and Amy (Kaitlyn Dever), overachievers who are taking on their most ambitious undertaking yet.
On the eve of their high school graduation, the pair come to the realization that they’ve spent far too much time and energy on getting good grades and not nearly enough on partying. They vow to cram four years of fun into one night.
The spot kicks off with Molly prying into Amy’s masturbation habits. The former is shocked when the latter suggests she can achieve an orgasm without using her hands. “You can make yourself come using only your mind?” Molly asks. “That’s like the one thing my mind can’t do.” It turns out that Amy has a special stuffed animal that helps get the job done — a panda with an eye dangling out of its socket. “That fell off way before anything happened with us,” Amy insists.
“Booksmart” premiered to raves at SXSW. The comedy, which hits theaters May 24, marks Olivia Wilde’s feature directorial debut. Katie Silberman, Emily Halpern, Sarah Haskins, and Susanna Fogel penned the script. Check out the trailer to see Amy’s mom getting uncomfortably close with her fave bear.
