“Tanya’s voice is in all of us that sing country music, and it’s time for us to do an about-face and recognize that,” says Brandi Carlile in a new teaser for “The Return of Tanya Tucker.” Kathlyn Horan’s documentary sees Carlile, a six-time Grammy winner, paying tribute to the country music trailblazer by writing an album based on Tucker’s life.
In the spot, Tucker reflects on wanting to “leave something behind.” She adds, “Music is the gift that I have.”
Tucker’s biggest hits include “Lizzie and the Rain Man,” “Delta Dawn,” and “What’s Your Mama’s Name.”
“The Return of Tanya Tucker” is heading to theaters this fall.
