“Not all Jews haggle,” Chelsea Handler tells a vendor in a newly released trailer for the second season of Netflix’s “Chelsea.” The promo makes light of the fact that that Handler defies etiquette and celebrates her brashness by offering “tips for the modern host” — and illustrates how Handler herself fails to meet these guidelines. “Be sure to compliment your guests,” a retro-sounding voiceover says. Cut to Handler interviewing Amy Schumer. “Are you saying [that I’m not skinny enough or smart enough]?” the “Trainwreck” star deadpans.
Season 2 of “Chelsea” “will feature unfiltered, revealing conversations with Hollywood’s A-list, world leaders, and notable guests from all walks of life,” the show’s official synopsis promises. “Viewers will be invited to travel the world with the fearless host, grab a seat at the table for her intimate dinner parties, and be entertained by comedy bits and Chelsea’s off-the-cuff humor. The sophomore season of ‘Chelsea,’ which now streams as a one-hour episode every Friday, promises to be louder and bolder especially in today’s political climate.”
“Chelsea” returns April 14, and the premiere will include guest Melissa McCarthy (“Spy”) and a bunch of nobodies. Other upcoming guests include Oscar winner Charlize Theron, Tracee Ellis Ross (“Black-ish”), and Rashida Jones (“Angie Tribeca”).
