Trailer Watch: Christian Serratos Wants to Be Remembered as a Role Model in Part 2 of “Selena: The Series”

Part 2 of "Selena: The Series"

The Queen of Tejano Music reflects on what kind of legacy she wants to leave behind in a new trailer for Part 2 of “Selena: The Series.” Asked how she’d like to be remembered, Selena (Christian Serratos, “The Walking Dead”) responds, “Somebody who wanted to be a role model. The best daughter, the best sister, the best friend, the best wife — I just want to be remembered as somebody who gave it her all.”

Now on the brink of stardom, Selena is struggling to balance family obligations, romance, and her rising career. “Just embrace who you are and don’t be afraid,” she’s shown saying. But the singer seems to find following her own advice difficult. She’s worried about going solo and spilling the beans about recording her English record.

Jennifer Lopez received a Golden Globe nod for her starring role in “Selena,” a 1997 biopic of the late “Como la Flor” singer.

Part 2 of “Selena: The Series” drops on Netflix May 4. Check out the trailer to see Selena belting it out onstage.
