Trailer Watch: Christina Applegate & Linda Cardellini Get Rid of a Body in “Dead to Me” Season 2

"Dead to Me"

Christina Applegate is “freaking the fuck out” and “lying to everyone all the time” in a new trailer for “Dead to Me’s” second season. After some deliberation, Jen (Applegate, “Samantha Who?”) and Judy (Linda Cardellini, “Bloodline”) have decided not to tell the cops that Judy’s ex Steve (James Marsden, “Westworld”), who was responsible for the hit and run that killed Jen’s husband, is floating lifeless in the widow’s pool. Instead, they’re taking matters into their own hands.

“How are we supposed to figure out what to do with a dead body?” Judy asks. “All I can think about is movies that involve wood-chippers or dissolving a body in a bath tub,” Jen deadpans. Convinced that the man she was going to marry “deserves some dignity,” Judy begs Jen to come up with a better solution. Jen has little patience for her friend’s sensitivity, and insists it’s not “fucking sparkle time” in a Disney movie. They could be murder suspects.

Season 2 of “Dead to Me” drops on Netflix May 8. Check out the trailer to see what happens when a “fucko” at a bar approaches the pair, who are weeping and mid-hug, to ask if they want to dance.

Applegate received Emmy, Golden Globe, and SAG noms for “Dead to Me’s” first season. Liz Feldman created the series.
