“I’m going to start capping people and I’m not even joking,” shouts Christina Hendricks in the first trailer for “Good Girls.” As threatening as her words are, the “Mad Men” alumna’s character is holding a toy gun that’s utterly harmless. But the people in the grocery store she’s robbing don’t realize that.
Created by Jenna Bans (“Scandal,” “Grey’s Anatomy”), the new NBC series follows three suburban moms (Hendricks, Mae Whitman, Retta) who’ve had enough of working so hard for so little. Hendricks’ character is dealing with a philandering husband who loses their savings, Whitman’s is being sued for custody by her ex and harassed by her misogynist boss, and Retta’s is desperate to find funds to pay for her sick daughter’s medical care. So the friends team up and decide to rob the local supermarket.
The trio snag the cash and make it out of the store, but their celebrations are premature. It turns out that the money they stole didn’t actually belong to the supermarket. Check out the trailer to see the plot twist.
“Good Girls” premieres on February 26.
