Volunteers join forces with the United States Postal Service to help kids’ Christmas dreams come true in “Dear Santa,” a look inside the USPS’s 100-year-old Operation Santa program. “Santa needs elves because this is a really big world and he can’t possibly do it himself,” a character in a new trailer for the film explains.
Described as “Santa’s Special Forces,” these “elves” help ensure that letters sent to Santa at post offices around the country get “adopted” by folks looking to give back during the holiday season.
“The film highlights letters where a child is asking for something poignant, something that goes beyond the common wish for a toy,” “Dear Santa’s” synopsis details.
One of the letters featured in the trailer sees an 11 year-old boy asking for nothing for himself and celebrating his single mom.
Nachman’s other credits include “Pick of the Litter” and “Batkid Begins.”
“Dear Santa” hits select theaters and On Demand December 4.
