Trailer Watch: Diane Is Right Back Where She Started in the Sixth & Final Season of “The Good Fight”

"The Good Fight"

“The Good Fight” is coming to an end, but Diane Lockhart (Christine Baranski) feels as if she’s stuck at the beginning. “I used to believe in progress, that we learned from our mistakes,” she reveals in a new trailer for the “Good Wife” spinoff’s sixth and final season. “But I feel like I’m back where I was six years ago. And no matter what we do, we just end up back at the start.”

No longer a partner at the now-revamped Reddick, Ri’Chard & Associates and worried about the state of the country, Diane rediscovers her “optimism” by experimenting with “a hallucinogenic drug called PT-108.” “I’m feeling it, that most dangerous feeling,” she says. “Hope.”

Meanwhile, Liz Reddick (Audra McDonald) is at odds with the firm’s new partner, Ri’Chard Lane (Andre Braugher). He describes himself and his expertise as “a brand.” “My lawyers do not want to work for a ‘brand,'” Liz informs him. “Oh, sure they do,” he counters, “if it’s that or unemployment.”

Sarah Steele, Charmaine Bingwa, Michael Boatman, Nyambi Nyambi, and John Slattery also star in “The Good Fight’s” final season. Michelle King and Robert King, the duo behind “The Good Wife,” created the show with Phil Alden Robinson.

Michelle King is among the over 400 female TV creators and showrunners who signed a letter to media companies, demanding they enact specific protective measures for pregnant employees in states where, in the wake of the Supreme Court’s Dobbs decision, abortion has been outlawed. Within 10 days of the letter’s July 28 delivery, the signatory collective requires review of the companies’ abortion safety plans.

“The Good Fight” returns for its final season September 8 on Paramount+.
