Trailer Watch: Diane Is Still Trying to Prove Herself in “The Good Fight” Season 2

“The Good Fight”

“You came back from the dead,” Diane Lockhart (Christine Baranski) is told in “The Good Fight” Season 2. “You proved yourself — you don’t have to keep proving yourself over and over.” If only that was actually the case.

“The Good Wife” spinoff began as newly retired Diane lost her savings in a Ponzi scheme and was forced to rebuild her law career at Reddick, Boseman, & Kolstad. She got back up after getting knocked down, but the experience — as well as the current political situation — has left her insecure and uneasy, as a new trailer reveals.

“I don’t know what’s going on in the world anymore. It’s not just bad, it’s insane,” Diane remarks. The fact that several Chicago lawyers have been killed by disgruntled clients isn’t helping matters, either. “It feels like death is everywhere,” she says.

The clip also introduces “The Good Fight’s” newest “Good Wife” recruit, Liz Lawrence (Audra McDonald), the former prosecutor and ex-wife of Diane’s colleague Adrian Boseman (Delroy Lindo). The atmosphere at Reddick, Boseman, & Kolstad grows even more tense when Diane convinces Liz to join the firm.

Co-created by Michelle King, “The Good Fight” also stars “Good Wife” recurrer Cush Jumbo, Rose Leslie (“Game of Thrones”), and Erica Tazel (“Justified”). Jane Lynch (“Glee”) is among the upcoming season’s guest stars.

Season 2 of “The Good Fight” premieres March 4 on CBS All Access.
